This is the discussion thread that I'm creating for the link Ares dropped in the "Titles" thread, so as to avoid cluttering that thread with posts. As a handful of you know, I can't right-click or ctrl+c/ctrl+v at the moment (for some reason, it causes a crash), so I can't copypaste links and such. Someone please to be doing that for me, and we'll get underway.
Apparently, TexMod is a modding utility for GuildWars that let's you alter some of the UI aspects of it. Anet has said they're totally cool if you use it to, say, make the fog on your map more visible (for Cartographers) or alter the look of your sword. The only danger of using it is that if it messes up your GuildWars, Anet isn't going to help you with the problem, which usually means a reinstall (a small price to pay, since it's a rare occurance).
So yeah, discuss TexMod here.

Well, even though I was proud that I got my mapping on my ranger and Cantha for Doughnut done the hard way, I decided to try it out. A few times it messed up my Gee-Dub on the screen in various ways. Sometimes I'd have the un-zoomed in continental map up without pressing M, or sometimes I'd have a semi-clear reddish haze resembling different parts of Tyria (Sanctum Cay, or the very NW of the map). Other than that, I managed to find tiny little spots on my map that I somehow missed despite them being right in the middle of the area they were in. I ran myself to these ares and cleared them all up. I think I may have gone up by up to .3%
I'll use it until I have my cartography title and then I'll ditch it.

Gave it a try and its a little glitchy in that I'll get this odd green textured square under my char that follows me around. But if I travel to another outpost it'll disappear and then come back again later. It's not too distracting. It was enough to get me another .4% before giving up for the night. It's made me realize that I need new glasses cause I missed a whole area in an outpost.

I also plan on getting it once I reach around 98% in Tyria, and losing it upon reaching Grandmaster (but I'll bring it back when I start mapping the other continents).
There's another mod I saw on the Wiki that added a circle to your compass that signifies the range of Spirits. I'm really hoping it doesn't glitch GW badly, because that would be an uber leet h4x to use (specially being a Ranger).

Dammit, dammit, dammit, the new update nerfed the Tyria map, Texmod no longer works.
