In this post I'm just going to detail to you the story of the first Silly Nanny. You can read it if you like; in fact, I would prefer it if you did. You don't want to miss any important plot points, do you?
[li]The Silly Nannies [GROG] was originally founded by seven members (myself included) who all met BEFORE ever playing Guild Wars together. In fact, the game that brought us together in the first place was The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and a site called (previously) Morrowind Summit. We called a private forum created by Captain Jordan home; that place was named The Morrowind Freebooters.
After a little over a year, the Captain closed down his forum, and so the 30+ of us made a new place for ourself; that place is called Deadlight Island. At the time, we were all in the Captain's guild called The Morrowind Freebooters [TMF], though due to a lack of activity, he disbanded it. Guildless, I felt lonely, aimless, and worst of all, somewhat chilly in my back area (no cape). With two platinum and a hundred gold, I formed [GROG] and had stitched for me a cape worthy of a noble hero.
The Banner of the Golden Grog.
It was at first a joke venture, because not having a cape and guild tag sucks. Over time, however, the old gang started to play with frequency, leading me to invite them all into the guild to share with me my totally awesome cape. And this is how you find the Silly Nannies today.
[/li][li]Even though there was only seven of us, we managed to enjoy the game in a state untouched by standard conventions. The guild was about helping each other out, sharing our spoils and hazing the person who, at the time, least suspected it. We never planned to invite anyone else into our brotherhood of booze, though we did allow one of the member's sisters to join, as well as another fellow Freebooter when he decided to leave his current guild.
However, we have felt a recent urging to spread the word of [GROG]. Not through pansy word of mouth, but through glorious conquest. We wanted to crush other guilds in epic combat upon the shores of our island hall. And so we decided it might be a good time to recruit some fresh blood. Enter; the Guild Forum.
[/li][li]With a great passion for Guild Wars, we have explored almost every facet of it. In both PvE and PvP we excel through indomitable spirit, teamwork, and having an awesome cape and guild tag. But we aren't fervant players all about "serious business; no fun allowed', we're casual in everything we do. If we lost an Alliance Battle because our team mobbed, it's no biggy, we'll just try harder to cap next game. Did the party wipe in the Underworld because someone pulled too many? It's okay, just make a joke about it and try again. Ah, such is the glamorous life of the Silly Nanny.[/li][/ul]
