FlatBows have speed, range and average accuracy. They are the best of the bunch.

I think he's confused about when I said "I use Read the Wind or Favorable Winds to make up for it's horrendous accuracy". There's a reason I carry an identical-stats Shortbow with me, y'know.

Oh, I just now saw that you said "average accuracy". I blame this whole thing on Ben! D:<

Recurve bow is penultimate for pvp play if you aren't running Read the Wind or Favourable Winds. Flatbow if you are running those. Hornbow is fantastic for Ranger Spike - the 10% damage with the two arrow buff skills mentioned makes monks cry. Hornbow isn't very useful in most other situations though.
Longbows are meh. At a longer range, it becomes easier to dodge so if you aren't running accuracy enhancers, they miss quite often. And if you are running those skills, might as well use a Flatbow for a faster attack speed.
Shortbows are the suck. With that sort of range, might as well run a Spear DPS Paragon or even a Rage of Ntouka W/P Spearchucker. You will attack faster, punt out more damage and have the benefit of more armour using a shield. True, you don't have ranger interrupts, but why the heck are you using a shortbow if you're playing interrupt anyway? You need range for interrupts - running for that extra 1 sec to reach shortbow range often makes your interrupt too slow. Read the Wind + Flatbow or Recurve Bow for interrupts - period. The only reasonable use for a shortbow is probably condition/degen pressure. Oh wait - a N/Me rocks more in that aspect.
"Speed > Accuracy" only applies to pve play where computer controlled mobs dont ever kite. People run around all the time in pvp play. You may find yourself missing 1 out of every 4 shots (or even more) at maximum range using a Flatbow with no accuracy buffs - unless of course, you are trading shots with another ranger. Or shooting at half-range all the time; in which case you would be better off with a shortbow, however sucky it is.
Please use Recurve Bows in pvp play if we aren't carrying accuracy buffs. It does make a very big difference.

That guy's bow would be PERFECT to couple with Concussion Shot. +5 energy to offset the obscene (even with Expertise) cost, and lengthens Daze by 33%. Add Apply Poison to cover, and you've got a deadly Caster shutdown using just two skills. I'd love a Rotwing and one of those to add to my PvP repertoire; otherwise, I'd have to make a PvP version of Dirth which isn't likely (the only profession I will never make a PvP char for is Ranger, cuz Dirth is awesome, kthx).

I want one for any build using poison. Hmm, maybe I sould try again that Fissure Forest Farmer. The only problem I had was the run to the forest, but that could be fixed if some chest run team accepts me. farming the Forest is pretty easy as long as you go slow and keep Troll Unguent up at all times. Oh, and don't try to attack three Spiders at the same time...
